Appearance and personality
Researchers, including Carmen Lefevre from Northumbria University, suggest that physical appearance can be influenced by genetics, hormones, and lifestyle. Because of this, some psychologists believe that a person’s face and style may reflect aspects of their inner personality. As the article notes, “a face can reflect a person’s inner self.”
A simple personality test
This idea has inspired personality exercises where people choose the figure they find most attractive in an image. The choice is meant to reveal traits about the person making the selection. In one example, participants imagine which of five women would be most attractive if they turned around and showed their faces.
Different choices and what they suggest
Choosing Girl No. 1 may indicate a calm and balanced personality, often linked with patience and resilience. Selecting Girl No. 2 is associated with sociability and strong communication skills. Picking Girl No. 3 may reflect modesty and empathy, suggesting someone who values others’ happiness.
Logic and independence
Choosing Girl No. 4 often points to a logical and thoughtful mindset, with people who approach life in a calm and analytical way. Meanwhile, selecting Girl No. 5 may suggest independence and a rebellious spirit, as these individuals tend to challenge norms and rely strongly on themselves.
What the test reveals
These types of exercises show how personal preferences can sometimes mirror personality traits. While not scientifically precise, they offer a playful way to explore how perception, attraction, and character might be connected.
