A former contestant from *Love Is Blind: Argentina* has been sentenced to prison after a violent case involving his on-screen partner.
Santiago Martínez, who appeared on the show in 2024, met Emily Ceco during filming, and the two became engaged. What began as a reality TV romance later turned into a serious criminal case.
In 2025, Ceco reported Martínez for violence after suffering injuries, including a black eye. Their engagement ended, and she obtained a restraining order. Despite this, the situation escalated, leading to charges of attempted murder, assault, and unlawful detention.
In March 2026, Martínez was sentenced to 15 years in prison. After the ruling, Ceco shared mixed emotions — relief, but also fear about the future. She said, “I have 15 years of peace ahead. I don’t know what will happen when he gets out.” She added, “If he tried to kill me when I gave him everything, I can’t imagine what he might do… after 15 years of anger.”
Speaking about facing him in court, she admitted, “My whole body was shaking. I was terrified.” She also recalled that during his statement, “he apologised and said he still loved me.”
Despite the trauma, Ceco expressed gratitude and strength. Reflecting on her journey, she said, “There were days of so much fear… of not knowing how to go on,” but emphasized she was supported throughout. She thanked her family and supporters, saying they “didn’t let go of me.”
While she acknowledges the experience cannot be erased, she now feels a sense of closure. In her words, “I… still healing, more aware, stronger, and deeply grateful. Today my life begins anew.”
