Identifying Bed Bugs Versus Other Invaders

They are reddish-brown, move slowly, and are primarily nocturnal. They leave behind distinct signs of their presence, including tiny white eggs, shed skins, and dark fecal spots. Most notably, their bites leave itchy red marks on your skin.
However, your sofa might be hosting entirely different guests. Carpet beetles are small, oval, and typically brown or black. Dust mites are completely microscopic, while booklice are tiny and pale. You might also encounter common household ants, eight-legged spiders, small silver silverfish, or tiny jumping fleas. Recognizing these alternatives is the first step in calming your fears.
