A Woman Cranky Because Her Husband Was Late Left a Dramatic Note and Hid Under the Bed

For weeks, a wife had watched her husband come home later and later, always with another excuse. Frustrated and convinced something was wrong, she decided to test him. She left a note on the dresser saying, “I’ve had enough and have left you. Don’t bother coming after me.” But instead of actually leaving, she hid under the bed to see how he would react.

A few minutes later, her husband entered the bedroom and read the note. She expected panic, but he calmly picked up a pen and made a phone call. Then she heard him say, “She’s finally gone… yeah, I know, about bloody time.” He continued talking as though he were calling another woman, saying he was coming to see her. The wife was devastated. She believed her suspicions had finally been confirmed and waited until he left before crawling out from under the bed.

Still shaking, she grabbed the note to see what he had written. But instead of a confession, she found the surprising message: “I can see your feet. We’re outta bread. Be back in five minutes.”

She immediately realized that her feet had been sticking out from the other side of the bed. Her husband had known exactly where she was and had decided to play along with her little test. The mysterious phone call had been nothing more than an act designed to make her worry.

Five minutes later, he returned with two loaves of bread and found her sitting at the kitchen table, embarrassed and angry. When she asked how he knew she was there, he simply replied, “Your feet were sticking out.” Soon, they were both laughing at the ridiculous misunderstanding. Instead of having the argument they expected, they ended up eating dinner together and joking about the lesson: if you want to know what your partner is doing, just ask—and if you hide under the bed, make sure your feet are hidden too.
