Donald Trump said the United States received what he called a “very big” and valuable “present” from Iran, hinting at a positive shift despite ongoing tensions.
Speaking at the White House, he stated, “They’re gonna make a deal… They gave us a present, and the present arrived today. It was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money.” He did not explain what the “present” was, only suggesting it was tied to oil, gas, and activity near the Strait of Hormuz.
He added, “I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize,” and said it signaled progress: “We’re dealing with the right people.” Trump also claimed Iran agreed it would “never have a nuclear weapon,” presenting this as further evidence of improving talks.
At the same time, he emphasized U.S. strength, saying, “We are roaming free over Tehran. We can do whatever we want.” However, Iranian officials rejected his claims, calling earlier statements about negotiations “fake news” and insisting operations would continue “until complete victory.”
Earlier, Trump announced a temporary pause in planned U.S. military strikes after what he described as productive discussions. He wrote, “VERY GOOD AND PRODUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS… regarding a complete and total resolution,” and confirmed he had ordered a delay in military action “for a five day period.”
Despite these statements, the situation remains uncertain. The U.S. describes progress, while Iran disputes it, leaving conflicting accounts and ongoing tension between the two sides.
