Francisco San Martin, known for his roles on Days of Our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful, has died at 39. He was found in his Los Angeles home on Jan. 16, and officials confirmed his death was a suicide. His passing has shocked fans and colleagues, many of whom remembered him as both talented and kind.

Born in Mallorca, Spain, in 1985 and raised in Montana, San Martin began acting in children’s theater in the U.S. He later returned to Spain, where he modeled, trained in acting, and appeared in stage and TV productions. His early experiences helped shape a career that would eventually bring him to American daytime television.

He became widely recognized after appearing on Days of Our Lives, first briefly in 2010 before landing the role of Dario Hernandez in 2011, appearing in more than 50 episodes. He later appeared in The Bold and the Beautiful in 2017 as Mateo, a character involved in a dramatic storyline. His work also included roles in Jane the Virgin and several short films, showing his versatility across genres.

Following the news, tributes poured in. His former co-star Camila Banus wrote, “Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend… Love you mucho mucho mucho; I wish I had told you more.” Journalist Michael Fairman added, “Very, very sad. I am a bit in shock, as I saw Francisco at my gym most every day.”
