This 64-Year-Old Woman Teaches Us How To Stay Young

Lesley Maxwell, a 64-year-old Australian grandmother, has become an online fitness inspiration by showing how exercise and healthy living can help people stay strong and energetic with age.

Her fitness journey began after her divorce. At 49, she entered and won her first fitness competition, which led her to build a strong social media following where she shares workouts and training routines, often featuring her granddaughter Tia.

Lesley frequently says people mistake her for being much younger, sometimes even confusing her with her granddaughter’s sister. Her daughter also shares this experience, noting that strangers often assume they are siblings when seen together.

She works out about five times a week and promotes a lifestyle focused on training, muscle building, and clean eating. She also runs fitness programs and shares what she calls “six steps to a youthful body,” encouraging others—especially older women—to stay active.

Beyond fitness, Lesley says confidence and self-esteem have improved greatly with age. She believes people can influence how they age through consistent exercise and healthy habits, rather than simply accepting decline.

Her growing social media presence has also brought attention and followers, including men who admire her lifestyle. She says she views it positively but is looking for someone who shares her energy and interests.

Overall, her message is that aging doesn’t have to mean slowing down completely—staying active, disciplined, and confident can help people feel younger and more capable for longer.
