April Webster and Nathan Fishbourne became known as the UK’s youngest parents in 2010 when they had their son, Jamie, at just 14. Their story began as classmates in South Wales, but quickly turned into a life-changing situation when April became pregnant at 13. Both admitted they were unprepared, with Nathan saying they hadn’t used protection.
The news shocked their families, but support came quickly. Nathan’s father said, “There’s no way we’re going to abandon him,” while April’s mother allowed her to choose whether to continue the pregnancy. Despite their age, both families stepped in to help them adjust to parenthood.
Jamie’s birth brought early challenges. He was delivered by cesarean and needed surgery for a condition affecting his esophagus. After time in the hospital, he recovered and went home with April, who lived with her family while Nathan stayed nearby.
April embraced motherhood, saying, “I’m going to give him everything he ever wants because he’s perfect.” However, her relationship with Nathan did not last, and by 2014, they were no longer in contact.
Over time, both moved forward with their lives. April, now known as April Lianna, has two more children and is in a stable relationship. Nathan also built a new life and became engaged in 2023.
Their journey shows how difficult early parenthood can be, but also how support and determination can shape a better future.
