Journalists run for cover as they report possible gunfire near White House

Journalists at the White House reported hearing sounds that appeared to be gunshots near the north lawn.

ABC News correspondent Selina Wang shared video showing reporters taking cover while several loud bangs echoed across the area. She later wrote, “We were told to sprint to the press briefing room where we are holding now.”

Officials have not confirmed where the sounds came from, and it remains unclear whether there is any active threat or danger connected to the incident.

The BBC stated it had contacted the United States Secret Service, the The White House, and local police for more information.

At this time, authorities have not released further details about the situation.
