A three-year-old boy is recovering after a serious incident at Johnsons Zoo in Cambridgeshire. Emergency services responded after the child was allegedly thrown into a crocodile enclosure from a viewing platform, prompting a major rescue operation.

Police arrested a 30-year-old man from Norfolk on suspicion of attempted murder. He was later released on bail after being deemed unfit for interview due to learning difficulties. Investigators continue to gather evidence and speak with witnesses.

The boy suffered serious injuries, including a broken arm and a fractured pelvis, but is reported to be in stable condition while receiving treatment. Reports indicate he did not fall directly into the water but landed on a concrete walkway first, which may have reduced the immediate danger.

A reptile expert warned that landing close to a crocodile could have been catastrophic, noting that crocodiles react quickly and possess an extremely powerful bite. The incident highlights how dangerous close contact with the animals can be.
