My Son Blocked My Only Road With A Concrete Truck And Demanded My Family Land

Wayne hesitated when questioned about the concrete truck, claiming he had borrowed it. However, Deputy Earl noticed the Hollis Development Group logo and discovered a contract showing that Wayne’s father, Floyd Bramlett, was expected to sell his property to the company by Friday. Even more shocking, Wayne had already received $40,000 for securing his father’s signature.

Under pressure, Wayne confessed that his contracting business had failed, leaving him deep in debt. The development company had paid him to convince his elderly father to surrender the land, and its manager had encouraged him to use intimidation. Wayne was told he would have to repay the money if the deal fell through, explaining why he had threatened his father.

The deputies charged Wayne with unlawful restraint and attempted coercion, supported by footage from the porch camera. The concrete truck was towed away, and an investigation into Hollis Development Group followed. Within a month, the company abandoned its pending land deals across the county and fired the manager responsible for the scheme.

The following day, Ruth arrived from Arizona and stayed for two weeks to help her father protect the property. Together, they placed the land under a conservation easement in her mother’s name, preventing future development. Wayne eventually accepted a plea deal involving probation and counseling, but rebuilding trust took time. Eight months later, he called his father to ask if he could visit. Floyd agreed on one condition: Wayne had to park at the bottom of the hill and walk to the house. Wayne respected the request and apologized before reaching the porch.

That afternoon, father and son replanted Loretta’s garden together. In time, Wayne’s children began visiting every summer, enjoying the old rope swing and the peaceful land their grandfather had fought to protect. Although their relationship slowly improved, Floyd remained cautious, keeping the satellite phone in the closet in case he ever needed it again.
